In a recent research poll stress was cited as having a negative effect on the health of over a third of the working population. This amounts to approximately 8.5 million people and can have such effects as;

  • Substantially reduced efficiency and accuracy of work produced
  • Tiredness and irritability
  • Weakening of immune system contributing to the development of other illnesses
  • Negative effect on abstract planning, decision making and creativity
  • Reduced performance in physical tasks

Approximately 360million working days are lost each year in the UK at a cost of £8billion, and a half of these absences are 'stress related'.
