The
first three months of pregnancy are dominanted by a hormone
called 'human chronic gonadotrophin' or HCG for short, this
is produced by the foetus and can sometimes make the expectant
mother feel lousy. The mother's body responds to the growing
baby by producing 'relaxin' an ovarian hormone, that works
to soften the pelvic ligaments to prepare for birth. The
mother often suffers considerable aches and pains as her
body adjusts to accommodate her babies entry into the world.
Reflexology can be supportive in making her adjustment to
hormonol output less uncomfortable. Reflexology gives support
to the mother through this enormous physical, mental and
emotional change that occurs in pregnancy. |
